Based out of San Clemente, Hate Meditation have cultivated a distinctly contemplative and sinister strain of black metal since 2013. The Southern California coastal setting belies the music's bleak, inward-facing darkness.

Pennsylvania's Hate Moon weave symphonic grandeur into black metal's inherent coldness, creating music that's simultaneously ornate and menacing since 2017. Orchestral elements don't soften the edge here — they sharpen it.
