Austin d-beat hardcore punk with furious Spanish-language vocals channeling the Finnish hardcore tradition.
Born from the high desert of Santa Fe in 2019, Valac conjures raw black metal built on lo-fi corrosion and primitive hostility. Their recordings embrace ugliness as a weapon, stripping the genre back to its most abrasive and uncompromising essence.
Filthy Dark Ambient (early); Black Metal / Dark Ambient (later) from Houston.
Valhkyr are a heavy metal band from Santiago, Chile, formed in 2019. They released their debut full-length "Tales of Battle" that same year, followed by the singles "Judgement Day" (2020) and "Demons on Me" (2021).
Intricate Progressive / Groove Metal from Dallas.
Kansas City's Valiant Reason have been grinding and gutting since 2017, fusing death metal's ferocity with grindcore's relentless pace. Short, savage, and surgically brutal — they're one of the Midwest's most punishing outfits.
Valient Thorr formed in Greenville, North Carolina around 2000 to 2001, playing a high-energy brand of heavy rock that merged classic hard rock swagger, Southern rock groove, and metal riffing beneath a science fiction mythology built around the urban legend of Valiant Thor, an alleged Venusian visitor. Vocalist Valient Himself commands the band's chaotic live performances, which helped establish them as a fixture on the American touring circuit. The band released six studio albums, including Total Universe Man (2005) and Immortalizer (2008).
Founded by three brothers in Austin, Texas, Vallejo fuse classic album rock with funky rhythms and Latin percussion into a sound that is unmistakably Texan. Their 2000 Sony release 'Into the New' landed them tours alongside Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, and Disturbed, and across twelve studio albums they have remained a beloved fixture of the Austin rock scene.
Named for the cursed valley outside Jerusalem, Chicago's Valley of Hinnom weave atmospheric black metal and post-metal into sprawling, grief-laden soundscapes. Since 2014, they've built an expansive sound where desolation and grandeur are inseparable.
