Formed in Lafayette, Indiana in 2011, The Mound Builders traffic in the slow-burning, fuzz-soaked territory where stoner metal bleeds into hard rock and punk. Their sound channels the flat Midwestern landscape into something heavy and hypnotic, built on massive riffs and a loose, lived-in energy.
Las Vegas, NV · 2015–present · active
Las Vegas dark rock project The Nocturnal Affair, headed by vocalist Brendan Shane and discovered by Disturbed bassist John Moyer, channels the melancholic grandeur of Type O Negative, HIM, and Nine Inch Nails into a crushing yet atmospheric modern sound. The band has toured extensively across the US, UK, and Europe, sharing stages with Fozzy, Wednesday 13, Drowning Pool, and Asking Alexandria. Their darkly cinematic songwriting, including the 2024 single 'Cross Me Out' co-written with hit-maker Johnny Andrews, positions them at the forefront of the gothic rock revival.

The Obsessed formed in Potomac, Maryland in the late 1970s under guitarist and vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich, becoming one of the foundational acts in American doom metal. After initial activity through the early 1980s, Weinrich joined Saint Vitus in 1986 before reforming The Obsessed around 1989 and signing to Hellhound Records, which released their self-titled debut followed by Lunar Womb (1991) and The Church Within (1994), the latter picked up by Columbia Records. After a lengthy dormancy, Weinrich relaunched the band fully in 2016, releasing Sacred on Relapse Records in 2017 and Gilded Sorrow in 2024. Weinrich is widely regarded as a foundational figure in doom and stoner metal.

The Occult Project emerged from Maryland in 2019 as a vehicle for corrosive black/death metal that leans into atmosphere as much as aggression. The project fuses the raw hostility of death metal with black metal's spectral menace, arriving at something deliberately unsettling.
Beaver Falls, PA · 2011–present · active
Hailing from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and active since 2011, The Ocean Walker stretch metalcore's framework across progressive and post-rock terrain, threading intricate arrangements through heavy passages without sacrificing emotional intensity. Their music rewards patience, unfolding slowly across dynamic shifts that few bands in the genre attempt.
MA · 2015–present · active
The Offering formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2015, drawing on melodic death metal, groove metal, and deathcore in a style shaped by the diverse tastes of frontman Alex Richichi. A self-titled EP in 2017 secured them a deal with Century Media Records, which released their debut full-length Home in 2019, praised for its willingness to blend progressive metal, hard rock, and extreme subgenres into a single framework. The follow-up Seeing the Elephant arrived in 2022, refining the band's layered compositional approach. Their technical guitar work and unpredictable song structures distinguish them within the modern melodic death metal field.
Huntington Beach, CA · 1984–present · active
Huntington Beach's The Offspring became one of the best-selling punk bands in history with their 1994 album 'Smash,' which remains the highest-selling independent label release of all time at over eleven million copies, driven by the inescapable singles 'Come Out and Play' and 'Self Esteem.' Dexter Holland's nasally vocal delivery and Noodles's crunchy guitar riffs defined the SoCal punk sound for millions of fans worldwide, while subsequent albums like 'Americana' and 'Conspiracy of One' kept them at the top of the pop-punk pyramid. With a PhD-holding frontman and a three-decade catalog of impossibly catchy punk anthems, The Offspring occupy a unique space as both underground-credentialed and stadium-filling.
Houston, TX · 2017–present · active
