The Offering formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2015, drawing on melodic death metal, groove metal, and deathcore in a style shaped by the diverse tastes of frontman Alex Richichi. A self-titled EP in 2017 secured them a deal with Century Media Records, which released their debut full-length Home in 2019, praised for its willingness to blend progressive metal, hard rock, and extreme subgenres into a single framework. The follow-up Seeing the Elephant arrived in 2022, refining the band's layered compositional approach. Their technical guitar work and unpredictable song structures distinguish them within the modern melodic death metal field.
