The band draws from Integrity, Japanese burning spirit hardcore, and multiple schools of extreme metal.

Over subsequent albums, the band underwent a deliberate stylistic migration through 1980s-influenced hardcore, garage rock, and post-punk, exploring a range of sounds while retaining an underlying confrontational energy. They have released six studio albums and remain active.

The band released key records including Give Them Rope (1997) and 0:12 Revolution in Just Listening (1999) on Hydra Head Records, establishing them as foundational figures in both metalcore and mathcore. They broke up in 2010 and have since performed reunion shows.
