Coalesce
Coalesce formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 1994, pioneering an abrasive and technically demanding strain of metalcore characterized by odd time signatures, dissonant guitar interplay, abrupt dynamic shifts, and aggressive vocals. The band released key records including Give Them Rope (1997) and 0:12 Revolution in Just Listening (1999) on Hydra Head Records, establishing them as foundational figures in both metalcore and mathcore. They broke up in 2010 and have since performed reunion shows.
