Los Angeles' Mange operate at a grim crossroads of doom, sludge, and grindcore — a combination that sounds exactly as ugly and confrontational as it should. Since 2015 the band has weaponized tempo contrast, lurching between suffocating crawls and explosive blasts.

Named after a viral hemorrhagic fever, Los Angeles' Marburg bring clinical precision to their hybrid of technical death metal and grindcore. Formed in 2016, the band strips both genres down to their most potent elements — speed, density, and surgical brutality.

Maruta formed in Miami, Florida in 2005, blurring the boundaries between grindcore and technical death metal through a relentlessly dense compositional approach. The band released In Narcosis (2008) and Forward Into Regression (2011) on Willowtip Records to strong critical reception, with the latter scoring a nine out of ten from Decibel magazine, before a brief dissolution and reformation led to their third album Remain Dystopian (2015) on Relapse Records. Their precision within extreme speed and their refusal to simplify the technical elements of their writing set them apart within the Florida grindcore underground.

Columbia City, Indiana's Matanza evolved from metalcore roots into a brutalizing blend of death metal and grindcore — all velocity, grit, and aggression with zero compromise. Their trajectory mirrors a band shedding its skin in pursuit of something far more savage.
