Houston, TX · 1999–present · active
Houston grindcore institution. Raw speed marrying grindcore with thrash. A pillar of Gulf Coast grind.
Los Angeles, CA · 2024–present · active
Los Angeles newcomers Pagoto smash crossover thrash and sludge together into a filthy, high-energy hybrid that owes as much to hardcore warehouses as it does to metal stages. Formed in 2024, they bring the reckless aggression of the LA underground to both styles at once.
Tampa, FL · 2015–present · active
Tampa's Party Time live at the chaotic intersection of crossover thrash, hardcore, and old-school metal, delivering the kind of sets that end in sweat and bruised limbs since 2015. Their name is a joke delivered deadpan over d-beats and gang vocals.
Houston, TX · 2008–? · disbanded
Furious Crossover / Thrash Metal from Austin/Houston/Pasadena.
Dallas, TX · 2008–2020 · disbanded
Crossover thrash legends from Dallas. One of the most important heavy bands Texas ever produced. RIP Riley Gale.
Belle Mead, NJ · 2021–present · active
Out of Belle Mead, New Jersey — a small town that seems an unlikely birthplace for anything extreme — Powerplay has been cranking out crossover thrash since 2021 with the kind of hardcore-infused aggression that made the genre dangerous in the first place. Short songs, fast tempos, and punk-adjacent attitude collide with thrash's technical bite, a formula that feels both retro and urgently alive. New Jersey has a deep hardcore and punk lineage, and Powerplay draws straight from that well.
Cleveland, OH · 2012–present · active
Cleveland's Punching Moses have been at it since 2012, playing a hard-nosed crossover that draws equally from Bay Area thrash and Midwest hardcore — aggressive, blunt, and grounded in the blue-collar ethos of the city they come from. Expect circle-pit riffs and no philosophical hedging.

Pus

Bay Area, CA · 2005–present · active
Bay Area extreme metal mainstay since 2005, blending death metal, crossover thrash, and grindcore into a chaotic, low-fidelity assault that draws on the Northern California underground's long tradition of genre-defying extremity.
