Blurring the line between arena-ready grit and heavy metal muscle, Gladiator channels both the swagger of grunge and the blunt force of classic metal into something that sounds worn-in and battle-tested. They've been at it since 2010 with no signs of laying down the sword.

Named after the short sword of the Roman legionary, Atlanta's Gladius wields traditional heavy metal like an instrument of precision — focused, punishing, and rooted in the old ways. Since 2011 they've kept the Southern underground stocked with pure steel.

Out of Gresham, Oregon, Gladius hit the ground running in 2011 with a thrash-and-speed attack that leans into the aggressive end of the Pacific Northwest underground. Their sound is built for velocity — fast riffs, sharp edges, zero fat on the bone.

Raw, unpolished, and deliberately hostile, Glaive strips black metal back to its most primitive essentials — primitive tremolo lines, blizzard-blast drumming, and vocals dragged up from the frost. A project born in 2020 with no interest in compromise.

A newcomer from Columbus, Ohio, Glamoury arrived in 2025 bringing doom metal with an air of mystery bound up in its name — glamoury being an old word for enchantment or illusion. What they deliver is anything but an illusion: heavy, slow, and consuming.

Portland's Glasghote drags sludge through the mud of doom, coiling feedback and suffocating low-end into something that sounds like the Pacific Northwest itself — wet, gray, and pressing down. Since 2017 they've been one of the city's most punishing underground outfits.

Formed in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2001, Glass Casket drew attention as much for their membership as their music, featuring Between the Buried and Me's Dustie Waring and Blake Richardson alongside vocalist Adam Cody. Their 2004 debut We Are Gathered Here Today on Abacus Recordings established them as a technically accomplished deathcore band, followed by Desperate Man's Diary in 2006 before the project went dormant. After years of inactivity, the band signed to Silent Pendulum Records in 2023 and released a self-titled EP, their first new material in seventeen years.

Lexington, Kentucky's Glass Coffin has been excavating the most frigid corners of black metal since 2014, building a sound that is both spectral and suffocating. There's a finality to their music that lives up to the name.

Connecticut's Glass Divide brings groove metal's locked-in chug and metalcore's emotional intensity together in a combination that hits hard and keeps moving. The Shelton outfit has been sharpening this dual-edged attack since 2017.
