Green Bay, Wisconsin's Putrilence is a very new act formed in 2024 that straddles goregrind and slam/brutal death metal — their Bandcamp handle putrilenceslam makes the priority clear. The band's Metal Archives genre description shows an evolution already in progress, moving from gore-influenced death toward the heavier, more structured brutality of slam.

Houston's Pyosisified traffics in the most putrid end of goregrind, delivering blasts of visceral, medically themed carnage rooted in the city's long tradition of extreme underground brutality since forming in 2020.

El Paso's Pyretic tear through a caustic blend of death metal and grindcore, combining ferocious blasting tempos with riff-first brutality that reflects the raw, uncompromising spirit of the Southwest underground since their 2017 formation.
