Sterling, Virginia's Deadbolt lock death metal and hardcore into a tight, uncompromising collision, formed in 2022 with urgency to spare. Their no-frills approach puts brutality ahead of technicality, every time.
Southern California's Deadcheck emerged in 2020 at the intersection of deathcore and death metal, pulling the bruising slam of the former through the structural ambition of the latter. They hit hard and leave little room to breathe.
Chicago brutal death metal veterans Deaden have been flattening eardrums since 2010 with relentless, technically precise ugliness rooted deep in the city's underground. Few acts in the midwest brutal death scene match their longevity or their ferocity.
Ohio's Deadfuck deliver metalcore with the blunt, unpretentious energy of the Midwest's DIY circuit, formed in 2018 and not especially interested in impressing anyone who isn't already in the pit. The name alone tells you everything about their philosophy.
Minneapolis's Deadland craft atmospheric black metal shaped by the long, brutal winters of the upper Midwest, painting sweeping, cold-wind soundscapes since 2017. Their music evokes the wide open desolation of the northern plains.
Atlanta's Deadlink formed in 2021 threading death metal ferocity through the slow-moving wreckage of sludge and doom, creating something that crawls and bludgeons in equal measure. Their city's heavy scene backs them up.
Seguin, Texas's Deadly Mass bring death metal and hardcore together with the direct, no-wasted-motion approach of a band formed in 2023 with something to prove. The Hill Country may be known for country music, but Deadly Mass are here to correct that narrative.
Santa Rosa, California's Deadly Remains began as a death/thrash act in 2010 before pivoting hard into brutal death metal territory — a natural progression for a band that always prioritized punishment over accessibility. Wine country's most extreme export.
Richmond, Kentucky's DeadMoon have been grinding out death metal since 1990, making them one of the more enduring acts to emerge from that region's underground. Decades in, the band keeps the flame of old-school brutality burning.
