'Iisnááhí is a Diné (Navajo) black metal project from Albuquerque, New Mexico, blending raw black metal with Indigenous language, themes, and cultural identity. Founded in 2018, the project has been prolific, releasing four full-lengths and multiple EPs including 'Wolves of a Dead Generation' and 'Reservation Kills,' with lyrics delivered in both Diné Bizaad and English. The music confronts colonialism, cultural erasure, and life on the reservation through the lens of furious, atmospheric black metal.

(waning) is a doom and post-metal band from Sacramento, California, active since 2007 with a catalog spanning eight releases. From the sparse beginnings of their 2007 self-titled EP through the expansive atmospherics of 2017's full-length "Still Hours," the band has steadily refined a sound rooted in glacial heaviness and brooding emotional weight. Their work occupies the space where crushing doom riffs dissolve into shimmering post-metal passages.

...Beneath Starless Night is a black metal project from Baltimore, Maryland, surfacing in 2024 with a two-track split release alongside Elfjada. The project's debut suggests a contemplative, atmospheric approach to black metal with titles hinting at longing and dreamlike imagery. Based in Baltimore's small but devoted underground metal scene, the project represents the next generation of East Coast black metal.

...in Agony of the Eclipsed Moon is a black metal project from Midland City, Alabama, emerging in 2020 with a single-track untitled demo. The project deals in raw, solitary black metal steeped in darkness and isolation. Little is known beyond the initial demo, placing the act firmly in the most obscure reaches of the American black metal underground.

.Nema is a black metal and crust punk band from Detroit, Michigan, active since 1995 with roots in the city's hardcore scene. Across a demo, EP, and the 17-track full-length "Bring Our Curses Home" (1998), the band fused raw black metal tremolo picking with the d-beat urgency of crust punk. Their mid-90s output places them among the early American acts bridging extreme metal and punk.

Hollis, Maine black metal project whose name evokes over a decade of New England cold. Rural Maine providing the perfect backdrop for atmospheric darkness.
Gulfport, Mississippi black metal and grindcore hybrid. Mississippi Gulf Coast extremity delivered in a cryptic alphanumeric package.

Watertown, Massachusetts black metal project. The numerical name strips away any pretense of mythology, leaving only raw, anonymous extremity from the Boston suburbs.

Black metal project of unknown origin. The devil's number meets liberation in a name that pairs Satanic imagery with political aspiration.

Frigid Black Metal / Industrial from Weslaco.
