Houston black metal and ambient project Nordjn has been active since 2015, weaving between raw, misanthropic black metal and spacious, introspective ambient passages in a way that feels deliberate rather than unfocused. The pairing gives their work an unsettled quality — moments of harshness interrupted by stretches of cold, meditative drone. It's an unusual combination for the Texas Gulf Coast, but one they've made distinctly their own.
