Kardashev
Formed in Tempe, Arizona in June 2012 by vocalist Mark Garrett and guitarist/composer Nico Mirolla, Kardashev coined the term deathgaze for their self-described fusion of shoegaze and death metal, pairing bright clean vocals and acoustic passages with harsh metal extremity. Signed to Metal Blade Records, the band takes its name and conceptual framework from the Kardashev Scale, a scientific measure of a civilization's technological advancement.
