Named for the Norse cursing pole, Olympia's Nidstang channels Pacific Northwest bleakness into cold, hateful black metal. Their sound carries the damp chill of the Cascades and a deep contempt for the mundane.
Michigan's Nigh Ungodly surgically disassemble their victims with technical death metal precision before dropping them into deathcore breakdowns of crushing weight. Peoria has rarely produced anything this methodically destructive.
Born in Albuquerque in 2024, Night Child runs crossover thrash into hardcore's wall of noise at full speed, all sharp elbows and no brakes. High desert aggression with a punk spine and metal teeth.
Los Angeles's Night City drags industrial machinery into the sludge pit, layering mechanical abrasion over slow, suffocating riffs built for neon-lit urban decay. Dystopian heaviness for a city that never sleeps.
Supergroup featuring members of Venomous Maximus, Necrofier, and punk act Bickley. Laser-focused 80s metal worship with punk grit, signed to Germany's High Roller Records.
Night Demon is a traditional heavy metal band formed in Ventura, California in 2011 by vocalist and bassist Jarvis Leatherby and guitarist Brent Woodward, placing themselves squarely in the resurgence of classic NWOBHM-influenced metal that defined the early 2010s underground. Their debut Curse of the Damned (2015) on Century Media and its follow-up Darkness Remains (2017) earned the band a reputation for tightly crafted, hook-driven metal with a strong live presence. The band released their third studio album Outsider in 2023.
Portland's Night Heir bend and fracture black metal into something restless and unpredictable, injecting experimental impulses that corrode the genre's familiar shapes from within. Over a decade of quietly transgressive work.
North Carolina's Night Quill writes black metal with an introspective, almost literary quality — corrosive but deliberate, like something scratched out in the dark by candlelight. Atmospheric and uncompromising in equal measure.
Santa Fe's Night Soil have been grinding out gnarly, no-frills thrash since 2004, two decades deep and still hitting with the force of a shovel to the skull. Weathered and relentless, pure New Mexico grime.
