West Virginia's Mountain Sludge Revival plant their music firmly in the coalfields and hollows of the Mountain State, channeling the region's hardscrabble working-class character into punishing, feedback-drenched sludge metal. Formed in 2017 out of Montana Mines, they are one of the few metal acts to claim West Virginia's small-town underground as a home base.
