Indian
Chicago's Indian formed in 2003 and became a defining force in American sludge and doom metal through a series of increasingly punishing releases. Their 2014 album From All Purity, widely considered their finest work, pushed their suffocating guitar tone and confrontational atmosphere to its furthest extreme before the band's initial hiatus; they reunited and released further material before ultimately disbanding in 2022.
